Dark Shadows...

I guess you would have to be at least 40 years of age to appreciate one of the most original shows ever on TV. Dark Shadows was unique on many levels. It was a soap opera that dealt mostly in ghost, horror, and a very reluctant vampire. There was time travel and some of the best story lines ever written for TV. I'm a member of Netflix and they have just about every episode of Dark Shadows. I started about a year ago with Volume 1 Disc 1. Each volume has 4 discs with each disc containing 3 and a half hours of the show. Today I started watching volume 5 disc 1. I've watched over 56 hours of Dark Shadows. My fascination with the show dates back to when as a small child, I ran home after school to watch my favorite vampire. I would have to say that Jonathan Frid's character Barabas Collins helped me in my decision to write a vampire book, which I have been working on for the past 5 years. With the help of Professor Art Deleault (St. Anslem College), whose comments, support, and guidance has been immeasurable, I'm nearing the end of this long and interesting journey. Dark Shadows has achieved cult status because it won the hearts of it's viewers with original scripts supported by great acting. There are MANY Dark Shadows web sites online, but the one below has a lot of information both past and present. Also, it looks like Johnny Depp was a fan of the show... He wants to do a Dark Shadows movie. He would make a great Barnabas Collins. Check out the picture of Barnabas in the middle of the blog!

Hey man, you don't have to be in your 40's to like it, I'm 27 and I used to watch the reruns on sci-fi. I like it too!! By the way, do you know when your book will be nearing completion? How many books did the one book turn into?
