Elise, Tina, and I went to see Saw V last night. Other than the Hellraiser series, there are not too many "series" that I really love and care about... the Saw movies are in a class by themselves. It is such an original concept that brings together horror, "torture", fear, and a perverse sense of justice to those that are chosen to participate in the "game." I have to say, I was disappointed in Saw IV. I felt it didn't live up the the original or the idea of what the games were all about. However, Saw V was very good. As in all the sequels, this movie answers several questions from its predecessors. There are five people who are all connected, but initially, they don't know how or why there are brought together. They must work together in order too survive the game. There are also four traps that they must get through or else the will not live. The Saw sequels use the in-screen flashback method which is going from the present to the past without a break in the camera. I'm not a fan of this method because it can be confusing at times. Over all, I really enjoyed the movie and I recommend it to all fans of the series. Check out the trailer at the end of this post...
